Bringing Two Worlds Together

During the Work in Progress exhibition at the Royal College of Art, we brought together to a corner of the Henry Moore Gallery our personal projects. Margarida brought the idea of saving a country, of utopia and Revolution.
Catarina brought memories and the wish to keep things that are hard to remember. Both projects referred to Portugal. For 5 days we mixed our worlds and by turning the gallery into a residency, we prepared 5 different lecture performances. Everyday the theme would be different, enabling the confrontation of our two worlds.

Day 1: We made lists. What are the essential things to live here? What can we not forget? What do we need to found a new country?

Day 2: Explorers. On discovering new lands, on bringing old memories.

Day 3: We thought we were going to work about families but we end up working about bridges and weddings.

Day 4: We worked on heroes.
From MacGuiver to Che Guevara.
From Sailor Moon to Nelson Mandela, from Salgueiro Maia to Power Rangers. A day about the need of heroes.
