In 2009 Lisbon’s streets were invaded by a series of protests that claimed houses for people, in a city with so many empty and abandoned houses. It was a year full of houses being refurbished, renovated and redesigned. Streets were full of houses outside themselves. Windows from other times, doors that belonged to old times, mirrors which showed so many people. Houses were in a revolution and the city’s streets were the stage for all of those memories, those houses’ traces. We built houses outside of houses, as if with those remains we were builders able to build a house that would swallow all of those memories.
PARÁGRAFO were founded with this project. When we came back from Erasmus, and all of us felt as the houses we created: wandering between spaces, searching for our city.
